Footprints in the Sand
We landed on a beach in the desert!!! But we were in Antarctica when we fell unconscious. Our pets and us were washed up on the beach. The old looking pirate ship was wrecked. Suddenly, in the distance, we heard some moaning. Then the moaning stopped!!! We thought it was a group of desert cormorants but then we heard footsteps. I carried my poor pet compsognathus who broke his leg. Suddenly we saw a few marks then a strange footprint like-mark and then footprints.
These footprints had to lead somewhere, I said.
This is starting to get paranormal, said Cade. What if it’s a demon?
Don't be a chicken, I said. Maybe it's just one of the local residents in the desert.
Suddenly a cobra slithered past us. We stood still and watched it pass. We kept walking for 7 hours and getting hungrier and thirstier with every second gone by. Suddenly in the distance we saw a city. We rushed as fast as we could. Cade’s pet indoraptor, Invincible, quickly dashed past us.
Suddenly another figure appeared but this time it looked like a human. We found ourselves standing at a massive tower and there was a person. Strangely it was Mace. He was skinny. We helped him up and immediately gave him food and water.
How did you get here? Cade said.
The shipwreck washed me somewhere else along the beach. I sent Bonehead to look for someone.
Wait a minute! Where is he? I said.
Suddenly a loud roar echoed across the desert as the skinny pachycephalosaurus ran towards Mace. We fed him some plants and continued on the journey. They were happy to be found.
Later we embarked on an even greater journey. One that we would never imagine we will take part in.
Such creative writing, Nicolas. I really like the words you have used in your writing. (slithered, invincible, and embarked). These help to create a picture in my head as I read your writing. I wonder what greater journey you will adventure to next?
